“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.” Albert Einstein

There’s a song called “Rain is a Good Thing” that’s been bouncing around in my head ever since last weekend when one of the girls that I was with would not stop singing it.

She’s great...she just really, really loves that song, and it got stuck in my head, too.
So I was responding to emails yesterday and as I was reassuring someone that this amazing Power Squad Project is only getting better, it hit me.

Rain is a good thing.
CHANGE is a good thing.
I haven’t felt this fired up in a long time, and there’s a reason.
Change is on the horizon, and each time I’ve made a major change to my business it’s only brought me closer to doing what I love.

Working with MY kind of clients, MY hand-picked team.

And yes, while change can be scary, it’s very definitely a good thing.
And necessary if you want your business to grow.

Change means evolution, it means bigger, and often better.

Rain is a good thing!

--> What change can do for a business.  Amazon disrupted the inventory supply management chain by creating as much ease for the customer as possible.  Step-by-step we see them grow.  Next up, Amazon is discontinuing their loyalty program with Whole Foods.  -

--> Now everyone is jumping on the convenience delivery bandwagon.  I mean... does anyone actually go to Costco anymore??  Hellooo... Instacart!
How can you change too?

Manage This.

--> Even small changes can make a big impact.  Look outside your current structure, your current process and status quo.
One small change can be so good.
Maybe a joining a mastermind or group coaching program.
Maybe it's that accountability program that's lurking around...
Maybe hiring a VA or an assistant for those extra tasks
Shoot, simply start your morning out in a different manner.
One small change can make a big, big difference.

Give.

--> Give to your local community.
This is 1000X the best thing you can do for you and your business.
Karma comes first.

Last but not least.

Last week I was in Dallas, Texas to record record record.
Two things that keep coming back to me regarding this trip.

  1. People are your best asset.  Relationships, new and old are to be coveted.
  2. Even when you are an expert in the room you just one expert in the room.   There is so much to give, connect, and learn.

Sunday's Power Woman featuring Marian Ilitch

Sundays for me are resting, rejuvenating, getting organized and daydreaming.
It's a new kind of way to relax!

Every Sunday in 2018 we are featuring power women.
Some women are in my life and inside my circle.
Some outside.
I have been digging further into strong women, leaders and learning about power people right in front of us.

Today I am featuring a woman you have never heard of.  She's worth $5.4 billion.  Billion with "B".

THE POWER SQUAD PROJECT

Who & What

Founder of Cesaer's pizza Marian Ilitch with her husband put their entire life savings into opening their first restaurant.

She's #1 on Forbes' list of self-made women.

It's okay to diversify...

Today, she owns the $4 billion pizza chain, a professional hockey team, another chain of restaurants and a casino hotel.

What she has in common with Oprah...

She's self-made.  While Marian landed #1 on the Forbes list of powerful entrepreneurial women, Oprah landed #3 on the list.
And she's intensely private.

Yep.  Private.

In today's day and age, you can be both private and successful!
#youhearditherefirst

Don't you just love her?!
Hope you have some inspiration as you start a new week!

Boy oh boy I have been sick!
Then I was well and then I was sick again!
But I slept and I finally got in a good workout if for no other reason to clear out my lungs!

In the meantime, I have had some much-needed downtime.

While I watched some of Mark Z on The Hill answering questions about privacy or lack of...
I couldn't help but think how we
all have failures.

That we all have hits
and we all have losses.

In the end, it doesn't matter how big and bold you are, you have good days and bad ones too.
And everybody needs a boost - sometimes both figuratively and literally speaking! 😇

Some 70 million small businesses use Facebook ads for their business.
Admittedly opening the ability to advertise to small businesses was revolutionary.

What can you learn from Facebook today?

Being trustworthy, open and no-so-shady, is good business.

How others are managing.

--> We manage by keeping the essentials IN and letting go of the rest.

  1. Distraction Tasks (ie - checking Facebook),
  2. Preparation Tasks (copy & emails) should be spent about 20% of your time,
  3. and then Revenue-Generating Tasks (engaging with your customers) should be 75% of your time.

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.” Roald Dahl

There is a lot going on right now and I have to be hyper-organized.
Hyper-organized and hyper-focused.

Here are some new life hacks I am doing to stay ahead of the game instead of behind.

  1. Schedule my workout classes a week ahead.  I have invited friends to join me so I can add that extra fun and get in girl time!
  2. Buy pre-made salads 2x a week so lunch is ready-made for me and I don't just snack on crap.
  3. Make chicken & egg salad over the weekend as a double help so I don't eat crap.  (I have a problem.)
  4. Laundry on Wednesday and Thursdays only.  The piles are big, yes, but we have clothes even so.
  5. Over the weekend, schedule my needed meetings if they haven't been set up yet, then schedule my activity around my goals.
  6. Meditate before I even get out of bed so my kids don't find me and distract me.
  7. Binge watching The Good Wife on Amazon PrimeTV.  I love this show and have already watched it.  So it's on in the background.  That I love how real and strong the women are.
  8. Right before the end of my workday (when my kiddos will be home) I list out if there is anything I must do that night and
  9. I create a prioritized schedule for the next day.  That way when I get to my office, I know precisely what needs to be done.  (Most important thought required items first.)
  10. Allow myself to go to bed between 9 and 10.  It's amazing how good one can feel rested.

These are today's habits.

I find giving myself permission to have quirks and silliness (like watching great re-run TV) allows me to feel good while putting in a strong hustle.

I'm not perfect though.  Just yesterday, I actually ran out of gas.  🙈
Yes, I was on my way to the gas station and boom, my car shuttered and I was stuck.
Completely and 100% out of gas.

After I got gas and went through that ordeal, I treated myself to a croissant and called it a win.
LOL! :)

Now, this weekend I will be like...
