Sunday's Power Woman featuring Debbie Roxarzade

"The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls." Pablo Picasso

Sundays for me are resting, rejuvenating, getting organized and daydreaming.

What is it I want?
What is it I will do?

I think you already know this about me, but I have a love affair with women.  Every Sunday for the remainder of the year I am going to be featuring power women.  Some women will be in my life and inside my circle.  Some outside.  Either way a power woman worth taking note of. Today, please meet Debbie.

Your Name & Company

Debbie Roxarzade, founder and CEO of Rachel’s Kitchen

How do you show up as a Leader?

I show up by doing my best to be mindful and understanding of my team at all time.

What's one way you manage your life that you feel you have mastered?

Even though I work long hours, I am a hands-on mom. I make it to their school events, sports events, help them with homework and projects, as well as volunteer at their school as much as possible.

How do you give to your community?

In addition to bringing great food to the table, Rachel’s Kitchen is also an active community partner, contributing to a number of local charities ranging from education and animal causes to health advocacy and child care services. Giving back is a large part of Rachel’s Kitchen’s DNA.

What's the number one tip you would give another woman entrepreneur?

I would tell her to do your best to figure out a work-life balance that works for you.

What tech tool could you not live without?

My cellphone!

What is your favorite business book?

“Good to Great” by Jim Collins.

What does self-care look like for you?

I enjoy taking my dog for a walk while listening to music.

What's your favorite quote?

“I am not what has happened to me, I am what I choose to become” - Carl Jung

Thanks Rachel for being such a leader in our community!

Quick side note from Ashleigh.  Here are my most favorite tools ever.

  • For audio motivation - Relentless by Tim Grover. I listen to him as I was in the mornings.  My walk always becomes a power walk after listening.
  • To focus during the day I love to focus@will.  They say music helps you focus and for me it surely does.  I blare the classical music.  I am not sure how many people my age choose that over techno but either way I love it.
  • Rosemarie Groner (from the Busy Budgeter) is a friend and I just LOVE how much she gives everything away.  She tells you and anyone she can her detailed way to making money!  Start with her Pinterest Strategy Guide that is worth every penny.  Not. going. to. lie.
