"It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped." -Tony Robbins
So much has happened this past week, it's hard even to fathom that it's just Wednesday.
Truth be told I feel like I got punched in the gut and a cold shower of gratitude poured on me.
--> Sunday there was yet another horrible and horrific shooting. How was this possible?
--> There was an amazing woman (WOMAN) who won the NYC marathon for the first time in 40 years! How many times did she hear about how no woman in her lifetime had won? She turned the impossible to I'm Possible.
--> Found out my neighbor's six month son has a super rare epileptic disease, and the "prognosis is not good." What? Again! How is this possible?
--> My GF called to tell me her dad was being put on hospice.
--> And my cousins live-in GF is being a bigger jerk than ever.
As I write this, I think of three more stories of terrible news.
So I turn to the good news and threw on some Tony Robbins and try not to feel like a complete jerk for not being so incredibly grateful for the crazy life I do have.
A punch in the gut is good sometimes.
I have to admit perhaps all this bad news what I needed in this moment to kick it up a notch.
And today, in Tony Robbins' talk, he said in order to be in the Hall of Fame for baseball you have bat a 30% average. (Or something like that.) But he pointed out that all of these HALL OF FAMERS have a 30% or 3 out of 10 success rate. And they are entered into the Hall of Fame for a job well done!
So, on this day, cheers to you, cheers to me.
Celebrate what you do have, what you are accomplishing even if it's a just a quick shower!
LEAD. Lovelies. Lead.
--> Speaking of firsts... we had the first NYC Woman Marathon Runner in 40 years and Charlotte, NC elected their first African American Woman Mayor! Further proof to me that if you can dream it, you can do it!
--> Hello change!! Everyone's business is evolving! You can now have 280 characters in your funny Twitter post!
--> 17% of employees say they would literally rather watch paint dry than attend a meeting. LOL! Science also says that Tuesday at 2:30 meetings are the best time to host one if you have to!
--> This story. The owner of TJ Maxx is still paying their employees in Puerto Rico even though they can't do any work.
--> This story. A casket designer is giving free designed caskets to the victims from Sunday's shootings. First of all - hello - did you know there were even casket designers out there? And second - helloo- how absolutely wonderful that this Texas man saw a way he could help and did. He jumped in his car, drove 100 miles and offered his humble services. There's a lot of cray cray in this world today but sure enough, I believe there is an equal amount of good too.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST.

Quick side note from Ashleigh. Here are my most favorite tools ever.
- For audio motivation - Relentless by Tim Grover. I listen to him as I was in the mornings. My walk always becomes a power walk after listening.
- To focus during the day I love to focus@will. They say music helps you focus and for me it surely does. I blare the classical music. I am not sure how many people my age choose that over techno but either way I love it.
