I can tell the future.

"I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse." The Godfather

I have recently had a whirlwind of phone calls lately.  28 calls in 2 weeks.
That included 5 cancellations and three reschedules.

I thought it was 19 but really it was 28.

I just counted.
Holy goodness, right?

Some were client calls, training calls, virtual coffee calls, sales calls, potential partnership calls, follow up calls and simply nice-to-meet-you calls.

One thing I know for sure, I can now tell the future.

And the difference is Clarity.
Holy goodness, Clarity.

I talked with a man who was on his way to get funding for the studio he was opening by May.  He knew precisely how much money he was asking for, his expectations of revenue, the different revenue streams and what his high and low expectations were.  He was happy to send over an almost 40-page business plan.

I wanted to hug him.

A woman I talked with didn't quite have a technical business plan in place but she had actionable steps.  End of January this, then once that happens then she will focus on the next part of the gig.

Another woman plain and simply wants "regular and recurring income from a TV series".
Simple and clear.
I love it.

Another woman has her ideal client picked out, knows precisely what she will charge and the exact number of clients she wants to work with this year.
Simple and clear.
Let's do it.

When you have that kind of clarity you can create.
You can really expand.
You can really grow.

Then there were others.
"Umm... you tell me what my goals should be."
That one made me literally laugh out loud.

And the ... I am doing 6 things at one time.  The book, the e-commerce site, the health food product creation, the masterclass oh and yes, I want to be on Reality TV.

I have more empathy for the person doing 6 things than the person who wants me to determine their goals.

But both versions need work.
They need to do the legwork.

With clarity, you can create anything.
Without it, you will just flounder.

Pick ONE or TWO things MAX and go!

Lead Ladies Lead.

--> Diversity matters more than just good moral.  McKinsey (THE firm) just released a study they did of 1000 companies in 12 countries and found the most diverse companies "are 33 percent more likely to have above-average profitability".

--> Everyone is talking about how Amazon's 2nd HQ list is down to 20.  The economic boost for that winning city will skyrocket.  People are speculating (big time) what the location choice will mean.  If they land near DC is politics and being close the government a priority?  Or what if they land near Los Angeles?  Will the Entertainment industry be their top priority?  Speculation is all over the place!

Manage This.

--> We talked about Clarity. How clear are you? If you don't clearly define a work-life balance, you'll never get it.  Write it down.  Map it out.  What will you do in a day?

--> Your brand needs a better story.  #justsayin
And umm... do you know Sarah Masci from Bracken House Branding?  I am obsessed with her mad skills!

--> Give thanks.  Stand up.  Pay that $100k fine just for the principle of it.

Last but not least.

Quick side note from Ashleigh.  Here are my most favorite tools ever.

  • For audio motivation - Relentless by Tim Grover. I listen to him as I was in the mornings.  My walk always becomes a power walk after listening.
  • To focus during the day I love to focus@will.  They say music helps you focus and for me it surely does.  I blare the classical music.  I am not sure how many people my age choose that over techno but either way I love it.
  • Rosemarie Groner (from the Busy Budgeter) is a friend and I just LOVE how much she gives everything away.  She tells you and anyone she can her detailed way to making money!  Start with her Pinterest Strategy Guide that is worth every penny.  Not. going. to. lie.
