"I'd like to live as a poor man with lots of money." Pablo Picasso

I'm feeling feisty.
And on fire.
And like it's time to rock the boat.
I don't know if it's that I am obsessed with this song

If it's the mood or the moon.
Perhaps it's that my team is in the best groove of its life.

That I have had so much FUN connecting with my peers, colleagues, and friends throughout the week!
I mean - why oh why did I fight having a Facebook group for so long?!

The shares are relevant, real and hellooo some are even eye-popping!
But it's the deeper connections.
One week in and I am hooked!

But here's the thing.
It's more than okay to be different.

You know I love Sara Blakely from Spanx.
She invented a new version underwear!
She revolutionized the industry!
And ... let's not forget how many people called her nutso.  Said she was crazy.
And that "ummm... are you sure about this idea?"

It's OKAY to be different.
You are different.
And you are different than your competition.   Inherently.
And ummm.. hello shapewear is expected to a $5 billion industry (which Sara created) by 2022!

Think on it.
It's time to rock. the. boat.
Your boat.

Lead Ladies Lead.

--> You probably know by now, I am an open book.
It was surprising (and also amazing) to me when a series of conversations this past quarter helped me see my business with new eyes.
Theme after theme my inner circle and my outer circle came to the same conclusion.
To me, it felt like a raindrop on a puddle and there went the ripple effect.

So here's the deal.
If you want a fresh perspective.
Someone to jump in the puddle with you

Manage This.

--> This past weekend we were in the mountains skiing.
My friends laughed at me that I was "Living ALL the dreams".
With all the things going on - what in the world was I doing SKIING?!

And then I read this post and nodded my head.
Work, Sleep, Family, Fitness, or Friends: Pick 3

Exactly, I am picking 3.
I am doing all 5 but only 3 at a time.
Think on it.

--> Helllllooo and thank you to the Starbucks gift card!
Not everything needs to be totally originally, unique and out there.
I go to Starbucks.
I enjoy it.
My kids always want something too.
The Starbucks gift card is a gift.
You're showing me you appreciate me in my space.

Last but not least.

Don't discount any idea you have.
There's room and space there.
Think of Sara Blakely and how truly revolutionary it was to the marketplace.

Here are a few other fun things you can't live without!
How about Rent-A-Chicken?!

Quick side note from Ashleigh.  Here are my most favorite tools ever.

  • For audio motivation - Relentless by Tim Grover. I listen to him as I was in the mornings.  My walk always becomes a power walk after listening.
  • To focus during the day I love to focus@will.  They say music helps you focus and for me it surely does.  I blaretheclassicalmusic.  I am not sure how many people my age choose that over techno but either way I love it.
  • Rosemarie Groner (from the Busy Budgeter) is a friend and I just LOVE how much she gives everything away.  She tells you and anyone she can her detailed way to making money!  Start with her Pinterest Strategy Guide that is worth every penny.  Not. going. to. lie.
