Sundays for me are resting, rejuvenating, getting organized and daydreaming.

What is it I want?
What is it I will do?
Am?
Become?

I think you already know this about me, but I have a love affair with women.  Every Sunday for the remainder of the year I am to featuring power women.  Some women will be in my life and inside my circle.  Some outside.  Either way a power woman worth taking note of. Today, please meet Summer, the beautiful Summer.

Your Name & Company

Summer Tannhauser @ summertannhauser.com who helps entrepreneurs create a freedom-focused lifestyle by building a profitable LIVE MORE, WORK LESS business.

THE POWER SQUAD PROJECT

How do you show up as a Leader?

I lead by example, share authentically, and inspire others to do the same.  My passion is empowering women entrepreneurs to understand that their business doesn't have to (and shouldn't) take over their life, and that it is possilbe to have both the life you love and the business you want. Things aren't perfect, and they sometimes get messy, but the dream is real, and acheivable.

What's one way you manage your life that you feel you have mastered?

I've compartmentalized my areas of focus throughout the day.  When I'm with the kids, I'm not working, and we're likely taking a day trip to the zoo, or walking the dogs at the park, or something else they enjoy. And when I'm working on the business, I'm able to quickly dive into my primary focused project for that day and accomplish my most important task.

How do you give to your community?

In the online space, I give by sharing my story, my strategies, and inspiring others in an authentic way that they resonate with. In a more tangible way of giving, through my business, I give back to Kiva.org, which provides micro-loans to people around the world to create opportunities for themselves, often through entrepreneurship.

What's the number one tip you would give another woman entrepreneur?

Create the business that fits into your life, and never the other way around. Maybe it takes you longer, maybe you don't get the "instant success," but ultimately by creating a business that is sustainable in a way that fits into the way you want to live your life is going to give you the most fulfillment in the long run.

What tech tool could you not live without?

I got an Apple watch for Christmas and I'm totally obsessed!

What is your favorite business book?

I've been listening to a bunch lately on Audible! But Oversubscribed by Daniel Priestleywas really, really good.

What does self-care look like for you?

On a practical basis, it's going to Barre class twice a week, getting up early before the house wakes to enjoy my coffee in peace, and spending a little time each evening in bed by myself to journal, think, and dream.

What's your favorite quote?

It's kind of a quote, but actually more of an affirmation, by Gay Hendricks (author of the big leap) .... "I expand in abundance, success and love every day as I inspire others to do the same."

Thanks Summer for being such a leader in our community!

Quick side note from Ashleigh.  Here are my most favorite tools ever.

  • For audio motivation - Relentless by Tim Grover. I listen to him as I was in the mornings.  My walk always becomes a power walk after listening.
  • To focus during the day I love to focus@will.  They say music helps you focus and for me it surely does.  I blare the classical music.  I am not sure how many people my age choose that over techno but either way I love it.
  • Rosemarie Groner (from the Busy Budgeter) is a friend and I just LOVE how much she gives everything away.  She tells you and anyone she can her detailed way to making money!  Start with her Pinterest Strategy Guide that is worth every penny.  Not. going. to. lie.
