If Lance can do it, you can too!

Woo! It's Monday!  Do you have your coffee on?

I find I have a love affair for each day of the week.

Sunday is the day of rest.  I love the sound of winter's coming football.  I nap if I can.  I prep for the week ahead with the comforting sounds of family and football in the background.
Monday is when I rest.  #GAMEONI love starting anew, starting fresh.
Tuesday is to help me get what I didn't get done on Monday.  That's it's soul purpose.   Tackle it Tuesday.
Wednesday is hump day just as if I were still in traditional corporate world.  Life is busy.  Work is busy and I am able to celebrate making this milestone!
Thursday I get to think about the weekend ahead and finalize the really important, concentration worthy work items.
Friday means HELLO weekend!  I wrap up the week, play with the girls and literally countdown the hours until my HB comes home and we can finally hang together after a very active week.
Saturday is family time and family catch up time.
Sunday we repeat. Rinse, rest, and repeat.

It all happens so fast and I love everyday for their sense of purpose.  The purpose they give me.
My workday has a similar structure.  What are the big things I must accomplish?  That's Monday and Tuesday.  Wednesday too.  Thursday and Friday are for follow up, clean up and review.  Weekends are to tackle the things I didn't get to too, if I can.

But I find sometimes I forget to just live.  I forget to do anything FUN.  Do anything I really love and enjoy (aside from work, I do love this work).  I have been making an effort, a specific effort to bring more of the things I love back into my life.  For instance, it's okay to binge watch.  I haven't done that in so long!  And it's okay to treat myself well and be a little extravagant.  Take a little more time.

Below are the things I have also personally enjoyed as of late.

Binge watching Downton Abbey.  So darn good.
Following the words and footsteps of Shauna Neiquist.  I love her book Bread & Wine A Love Letter to Life Around The Table With Recipes
Making my own iced tea.  Revolution Tea Sweet Ginger Peach Black Tea with a squeeze of lemon and a leaf of mint.  Mmmm. Mmmm.
I haven't seen my BF in nearly a year it seems.  Visiting each week again for a walk, a play with the baby and little bit of familiar gossip has been so darn wonderful.
Connecting with the coolest of cool women like Courtney from Milk Jar Cookies and Jasmine Star.

Life is not about work.  Work is not about life.  There's a mix.  A balance of some sort that needs to be maintained.  Fun in doing many while focusing on one.
As hard as you are working, don't forget to step outside of work.
Enjoy the things you used to enjoy.

LEAD.  Lovelies.  Lead.

--> Lance Armstrong came out with a "real" apology this time.  Perhaps this is the first time he has ever really LEAD in the true sense of actual leading in feeling "remorse for deceiving fans and friends".  A good reminder that it's never too late to do the right thing.

-->  Amazon has a luxury problem.  Cliff notes version: They wanted to bring in luxury watches but big brands couldn't protect them from counterfeits.  Why this matters to you?  Everyone has issues.  Everyone has problems they have to figure out.  Wanna bet how long it will be until luxury goods are also sold on Amazon

--> Was it a promotion gone good? Or a promotion gone bad?  McD's customers chanted "We want sauce!" when the special edition saw ran out!  Police were called, customers were unhappy and thousands upon thousands of social media posts about McDonalds.

--> My focus and productivity felt really good this past week.  One of the tools I started using again was focus@will.  I feel like it helps me focus, center, and definitely helped eliminate those crazy distractions around me!

--> Giving thanks happens in so many ways.  Jason Aldean opens 'Saturday Night Live' with Tom Petty's 'I Won't Back Down'.

Quick side note from Ashleigh.  Here are my most favorite tools ever.

  • For audio motivation - Relentless by Tim Grover. I listen to him as I was in the mornings.  My walk always becomes a power walk after listening.
  • To focus during the day I love to focus@will.  They say music helps you focus and for me it surely does.  I blare the classical music.  I am not sure how many people my age choose that over techno but either way I love it.
  • Rosemarie Groner (from the Busy Budgeter) is a friend and I just LOVE how much she gives everything away.  She tells you and anyone she can her detailed way to making money!  Start with her Pinterest Strategy Guide that is worth every penny.  Not. going. to. lie
